We are looking for an inspiring and innovative Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer who will lead Bournemouth University into the future.

The new Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer will succeed Professor John Vinney who leaves BU in August 2024. Under his leadership, BU has seen many positive changes, leading to significant achievements and growth. He has been integral to the transformation of the organisation, through visionary strategic plans which have supported BU’s journey from strength to strength including the introduction of fusion as a central academic approach.
Reporting to the Board, with an emphasis on the successes to date, we are seeking a Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer who is a dynamic and innovative leader, with vision and drive to build on the University’s strengths to take it into the next stage of advancement and growth.
Through inspirational leadership and strategic objectives aligned to the challenges of the sector and the organisation, the successful candidate will ensure that BU fully realises its purpose to; Inspire learning for our students and staff, and in our wider communities; Advance knowledge in practice and the professions, and our academic areas; and Enrich society though education, the impact of our research and our contribution to global challenges.
